Day of Giving Back "...

As Dr. Stiver looked back through his 26 years of practice, one of the areas that brought true pleasure was the opportunity to help people in need of dentistry that for whatever reason, could not obtain it. He has participated in speaking with school age children, programs put on by the Greater Kansas City Dental Society and the Kansas Dental Association. He thought that going to another country would be an incredible experience; however as the past year has unfolded it became a reality that there were plenty of people in our own community that were in need.

It became Doctor's intent to set aside two days this year in which he and the team would volunteer to provide dentistry to those who are in need of our services with no means to obtain it.

The first "Day of Giving Back" was scheduled Friday, April 9th 2010. In the planning stages, Doctor announced to our "family" of patients that they could help us by nominating someone they knew who could truly benefit from our efforts. We asked they write to us with the persons situation and in what way we could help. We contacted the nominee, did a pre-screening and scheduled them for the diagnosed treatment.

April 9th was a huge success for the patients we were able to help be a little more comfortable and pain free. Synopsis of the day.... "The rewards worked both ways."

Doctor Stiver and his longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Robert Hurst, team and patients made it all possible! We have partnered with Lisa Hulme at Patterson Dental Supply for the ability to have additional sterilization on site and one of our labs, Creative Dental Arts for their laboratory services.

On Friday, October 1st we held our second "Day of Giving Back"!

Due to the tremendous help we received from our patients in the Spring, we had a list to schedule from for October 1st. We were scheduled to full capacity.

We even had the opportunity to follow up with a few families for continued care of their particular complex circumstance.
